  • There is another wiki that is covering this game: https://azur-lane.fandom.com and I would like to explore the possibility of merging the two wikis. Have you had any interaction with the other wiki, or do you have any thoughts about a merge?

Note: No merger will take place if both communities don't agree to it.

The advantages of becoming one community working together are clear: By working together, all fans of Azur Lane could build a resource on the game more effectively, keep it up-to-date more easily, and players would no longer be confused as to which site they should turn to for information.

    What do you think? :)

    • Hi Moviesign,

I took a look at https://azur-lane.fandom.com and it appears their focus is the Azur Lane anime, whereas this wika is based on the mobile game Azur Lane.

While there are some similarities between the two wikias (e.g. same characters, settings, and plot), they're not creating content to assist individuals who play the mobile game Azur Lane.

At this time I'd prefer not to merge the two wikias.

      Thanks,
      Axio

  • Just wanted to thank you for taking over the wiki, There was only about three of us at the start and we all kind of lost interest in the game a while back but it's nice to see that someone capable has taken over and done a good job of keeping the wiki properly updated. I know I appreciate it, and I hope those who use the wiki do too.

    • Hi Nanotae,

Great to hear from you and I hope you're doing well. Thank you for the nice post, it really means a lot. There's still a lot to do and if you start playing again feel free to stop by.

      Thanks again,
      Axio

  • Hello, for my own curiosity's sake I've been gathering some data on the coin and medal shops. I've noticed that some of the information about both are out of date. Some new things have been added to both and some of the prices for things in the coin shop have changed. If you'd like I can share some of my findings with you. Thanks

    • Apologies I'm new to this website and didn't quite understand, although I will still put out an edit to give more information on those stores where appropriate

  • As part of your site remodeling, it would be a good time to convert to the newer Portable Infoboxes. They work much better on mobile devices, and almost 60% of your page views come from mobile devices. Fandom has a team of people that help with portability, so let me know if you'd like me to put you in touch with them, or if you have any questions. —Moviesign (talk) 20:40, May 20, 2019 (UTC)

    • Yes, typically infoboxes do not take up the full width of the page (they can, but it is not recommended). The thinner box is the best layout for mobile viewing so users can scroll vertically and not miss anything. I think your infoboxes would convert fairly easily, but there is the issue that most of your ship pages have no text on them, which is very bad for discoverability by search engines. Are there not any descriptions, strategy, or other game information about these ships that isn't just hard data or numbers? Just curious.

What is an example of a one-off style template? The PIs have a way of doing "variations on a theme" so that you can have CSS that is common for all infoboxes and then alter it based on some infobox parameter.

    • Bump. Any thoughts on this? I'm happy to help convert one so you can see what it looks like before using it on the wiki.

  • Hello. I'm Magma MK-II, and I'm currently taling care of the shoot'em up footer at Community Central, along with a few others. Would it be a problem if I added it to the front page?

  • Hey Axiocranium,

Which footers should be at the bottom of ship pages?  Some pages have the ship's classification list template and the ship list template (e.g., Juneau).  Some pages have their ship's classification list template and their nation's list template, but not the ship list template (e.g., Gneisenau).  Thoughts?

    • I'm thinking the Ship Type and the Ship Nation templates should be at the bottom of each ship page, but I'm open to suggestions if you have any ideas.

        Loading editor
    • Works for me.  It's relatively easy to get to the full ship list anyway.
