Detecting Enemy Submarines[]
Enemy submarines will be automatically detected when they come within range of Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Vanguard Fleet ships (Destroyers and Light Cruisers). No ASW equipment is required to detect enemy submarines.
Should an enemy submarine leave the Vanguard Fleet's ASW detection range, it will become undetected again after several seconds.
The Vanguard Fleet's submarine detection range is dependent on the following stats and equipment:
- The Vanguard Fleet's base ASW stats
- The Main Fleet's total base ASW stats
- Equipped Sonar will increase the detection range
- Map and enemy effect and debuffs
Sonar[]
Sonar equipment improves Destroyers' and Light Cruisers' ability to detect enemy submarines at increased ranges. The Anti-Submarine Range (ASR) stat on Sonar with increase the size of the detection "circle" around the Vanguard Fleet.
Damaging Enemy Submarines[]
When an enemy submarine is detected, any Destroyers and/or Light Cruisers in range will launch depth charges to damage it. No Depth Charge equipment is required to be equipped to launch depth charges.
Depth Charges have the following details:
- Depth charges deal area of effect damage
- Depth charge damage is reduced the farther the enemy submarines is from the center of the depth charge explosion
- Depth charge damage is governed by the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) stat
- This stat is most often found on Sonar and Depth Charge equipment
